So, we finally reached the end of January (did that feel like three months long to anyone else?)
I’ve been experiencing this weird phase for me where I don’t wear much makeup besides the 3 holy grails to make my face look like I didn’t just wake up. I’ve also been on this crazy rut where every time I have some time off I’m incredibly sick. So no will nor energy to take pictures, review makeup, play with it, write posts, post on Instagram, etc… (never not in the mood to shop though apparently). But there are a few things I’ve fallen in love, so here they are.
Mac recently opened in my city (can you believe there wasn’t even one around?!) And the first thing I went for was Velvet Teddy, obviously for all the hype I’ve been hearing for the longest time. I expected a nice matte nude, one to wear on a day to day basis. But I wasn’t anticipating how good and soft the formula would be. An everyday staple for me now.
ColourPop Pillow Talk
now sold out, but you can shop many other beautiful shades for 20% off with this link (new customers only) and I would be eternally grateful <3
I received an email a few weeks ago by ColourPop announcing a lot of discontinued products on sale. Some of them were shades I own and like, and I kind of stung. But nothing hurt like seeing Pillow Talk amongst these items. I loved this shade ever since I first saw it, but when I wore it for the first time, I felt it. A skipped beat (so dramatic, I know). I’ve been wearing it non stop as in mourning. Which I now realise was a dumb move because now it’s gone forever and I have no backup.
I have read more in 2018 than I have in half of 2017. That makes me so incredibly happy because reading is one of my favourite things, but I never used to make time for it. I was so against Kindles at first, but I have to say I wouldn’t be reading this much.
Photography + Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens
The one thing I find myself wanting to learn more and more is photography. I’m enjoying playing with my camera more and more. I got really bored with the lens that came with the camera, especially with the inability of setting a higher aperture. So I asked for this really cheap (compared to many other lenses) 50mm for Christmas and I’ve been enjoying it so much. Yay for blurry background photos, am I right?
I actually loaded my cart with Morphe brushes last Black Friday, mainly to test things out and fill the spots in my eye brush collection. I was lacking especially in the small detail and blending department, so I took advantage of the new UK Morphe site, and I was so pleasantly surprised. I’m so happy to finally be able to create more detailed eye looks for such a stupid price as well!
